Triune Consciousness: Foundational Research

Evolution’s Best Kept Secret introduces the triune (3-6-9) pattern as a simple throughline appearing across nature, the mind, and culture. It provides the conceptual backbone for the Triune Consciousness curriculum.

Evolution's Best Kept Secret

October 2020

The First Analysis Institute of Integrative Studies (FAI) has long explored the intersections of the Personality Enneagram and evolutionary science. In this key publication, FAI explores the evolutionary genetic origin of the Personality Enneagram and how the Enneagram's "3,6 &9 Triune" pattern mirrors the structure of the Genetic Code.

Uncovering the Apocalyptic Enneagram in the Book of Revelation

December 2024

Discover how the Enneagram, a key tool in understanding personality types, may unlock hidden interpretations within the Book of Revelation. This fascinating connection suggests that the "3, 6 & 9 Triune" found in the Enneagram can offer a new perspective on the ancient scripture, shifting its focus from primarily apocalyptic scenarios to a universal message of Christ's redemptive love.

Identifying the Enneagram in the Book of Revelation

February 2019

The Enneagram, as discovered and revealed by George I. Gurdjieff in the early 20th century, serves as a universal symbol for interpreting knowledge related to humanity and the universe. Central to Gurdjieff's teachings, the Enneagram operates on the Law of Three, which asserts that all phenomena involve two opposing forces and a third neutralizing force, with the 3, 6, and 9 triangle representing this "free trinity." Additionally, the Enneagram embodies the Law of Seven, indicating that all phenomena progress through seven stages, forming an infinitely repeating cycle.

Revelation: Stewardship & Interfaith Collective Action

These companion essays – Identifying the Enneagram in the Book of Revelation and Uncovering the Apocalyptic Enneagram in the Book of Revelation – trace recurring patterns in Revelation and explore their implications for responsibility, hope, and action today. The insights form the foundation of FAI’s interfaith programs, which are grounded in shared scriptural themes.

Meditative Point: Integrating the Three Centers

Gurdjieff’s Best Kept Secret presents a straightforward attention practice for balancing thinking, feeling, and doing. It offers an accessible way to turn integrative theory into everyday awareness.

Gurdjieff's Best Kept Secret

November/December 2019

During his 1928-1932 visit to New York, George Gurdjieff imparted a crucial teaching to his followers about the importance of focusing on the "back of the head" as a meditative point to connect all three centers of the Enneagram: physical, emotional, and intellectual. This triune focus, aligning with specific brain regions such as the hindbrain, limbic system, and neo-cortex, provides a unique way to navigate mental, emotional, and physical stress.

Applied Research: Genes & Nutrition

These publications apply the “Triune Consciousness” and Enneagram lens to biology and nutrition—moving from a proposed 3-6-9 pattern in the genetic code (Identifying the Enneagram in the Genetic Code) to studies conducted at the University of Chicago and UIC testing how vitamins A and D may work together in lab and animal models (published in Functional Foods in Health and Disease). The findings point to shifts in cancer-related pathways and measurable, dose- and time-dependent effects on tumor growth.
